Cadets have the opportunity to learn about many topics relating to aviation, citizenship, instructional technique, principles of leadership, and wilderness survival.

Royal Canadian Air Cadets is for young people between 12 and 18 years of age. 172 Squadron meets at the Bowmanville High School on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. We offer training at the school weekly from September through to June.
Cadets during a typical training night have an opportunity to participate in an opening parade; various interactive classes; and followed by a closing parade.
Training outside of Tuesday evenings includes; gliding days, weekend field training exercises, sports nights, drill team and band.
